Summary of Job Duties:Offers administrative, clerical andprogram support to enhance and maximize the efficiency andeffectiveness of the Industry and Engineering departments. Positionsupports industry and engineering department heads and faculty,assists with student success and stakeholder engagementinitiatives, and maintains faculty/course information essential tothe maintenance of programmatic accreditation. Specific supportresponsibilities include coordination of textbook adoptions,travel, and purchasing. The position reports to Dean of the Collegeof Business and Industry.

Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Work Experience: Minimumqualifications include a formal education equivalent of a highschool diploma; plus, one year experience in a clerical field orrelated area. Other job-related education and/or experience may besubstituted for part of these requirements.

Preferred Education and/or Work Experience: Associate degreeor equivalent; plus, one year of specialized training in thesecretarial field; plus, two years of clerical experience.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs basic reception and clerical duties for the CBI Dean’soffice.
  • Supports full-time and adjunct faculty instructional andresearch needs.
  • Coordinates travel and reimbursem*nts for faculty.
  • Maintains departmental files, records, and logs.
  • Creates and tracks requisitions submitted by faculty and/orstudent groups.
  • Assists department and college leadership with the organizationof programmatic evaluation, faculty evaluation, and programassessment materials.
  • Responsible for inventorying and purchasing office supplies andequipment.

Other Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receives, distributes, or responds to mail/email addressed tothe departments as appropriate.
  • Assists with events planning and support.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Responsible for maintaining a positive work atmosphere by actingand communicating in a manner to foster teamwork and by providingleadership to student workers. Requires consistent on-timeattendance.

Special Job Dimensions: Work performed primarily in anoffice/classroom setting. Occasional travel and extended hoursrequired. While performing the duties of this job, the employeeregularly exhibits digital dexterity when entering data intocomputer. Required abilities include walking, standing, and sittingfor extended periods. Visual demands include close, relativelydetailed vision when focusing on a computer screen. Employeeregularly talks and hears. Employee occasionally lifts items up to10 pounds.
