- Hybrid
Peanut Butter Breath, a.k.a. Peanut Butter or Peanut Breath, is an evenly balanced hybrid strain (cultivar) that packs a punch. With a THC content of 26%, you can expect a hard-hitting cerebral high that sends a buzz around your entire body. Its effects suggest that Peanut Butter Breath would be ideal for managing , anxiety and depression, chronic pain, and insomnia.
Peanut Butter Breath originated from ThugPug Genetics and is a cross between Do-Si-Do and the exceedingly rare Mendo Breath. Balanced strains, i.e., those with 50% indica and 50% sativa, are generally quite hard to come by. As the name implies, Peanut Butter Breath offers a deliciously sweet, buttery, nutty flavor like a candy peanut butter cup.
Peanut Butter Breath won first place in Toronto’s 2019 Karma Cup in the indica category. It’s popular for its pleasantly relaxing effects and delicious smell.

THC can stimulate the production of the hunger hormone ghrelin.
Both THC and CBD have significant anti-emetic properties, meaning they’re shown to prevent vomiting. However, THC can cause nausea and vomiting in some at high doses, so be sure to take as small amount as you can to get the right effects.
Cannabinoids like CBD can help modulate serotonin transmission, giving it anti-depressant and anxiolytic effects.
Cannabis contains many anxiolytic (anti-anxiety) compounds that can beat stress and reduce the production of the stress hormone cortisol.
Cannabis contains anti-inflammatory and analgesic compounds that can help reduce or distract from pain, including THC, CBD, and beta-caryophyllene.
Dosing
Remember to start using Peanut Butter Breath with a small dose and slowly build this up. This will help you understand what your body can tolerate (and enjoy!) to maximize the benefits without any unwanted side effects. When taken in edible form, THC is also processed differently by the body, making it more easily absorbed and potentially enhancing its effects. Taking edibles also avoids any potentially harmful effects from smoking, particularly on your lungs. However, edibles can also be far more potent than inhalation, so keep this in mind and go especially slow and low when eating cannabis.

A warning if you want to grow this strain: You may need to do some serious investigative work. ThugPug is secretive about this strain, making their seeds challenging to come by. The strain is also more delicate and less resistant to mold than other strains. You may be better off growing it indoors.
Overall, we recommend Peanut Butter Breath for more experienced growers. Indoors, you can expect a yield of around 0.5 ounces per square foot (150 grams per square meter). Outdoors produce approximately 10-12 ounces (280-340 grams).
Buds are generally long, with hints of purple and a heavy coat of trichomes. You should slowly dry and cure buds to preserve and maximize the terpenes.
Height
Peanut Butter Breath strain is a tall plant, and you can boost its vertical growth by providing plenty of room for the roots and maximizing light exposure.
Humidity and Temperature
Peanut Butter Breath grows best in a Mediterranean climate. Humidity for this strain needs to be strictly controlled, given its susceptibility to mold.
During the growing period, humidity should be kept at around 70%. As you near the flowering stage, gradually lower this to 40% to prevent any excess moisture from being trapped.
Flowering
Flowering time for this strain is relatively typical at nine to 11 weeks. Growing outdoors, you can expect to harvest in late October.
